Motosleeping silver bullet?

Motocamping 101 highlighted a few weaknesses. My sleeping pad was so-so. The old spring sleeping bag wasn’t adequate, and the upgrade purchase wasn’t a big enough step up (in the event I’ll not be able to return it there are uses). It also became clear I needed a legit pillow for the head and neck that had been carrying around a motorcycle helmet for many hours.

Introducing the Big Agnes sleeping bag system. The bag has a sleeve on the bottom that envelopes a sleeping pad. You can’t roll off it, and it provides the bottom insulation (there is no “bottom” to the sleeping bag). I’m not sure how I feel about the latter…

The head compartment has a “pillow barn” that holds the pillow stationary within the hood. In my case I’m trying a foam/inflatable combo, a luxury made possible by my motorized backpack.

Strapping that back on in a sec, and testing the system somewhere in woods tomorrow night. Sure, I could test it in the yard, but that doesn’t have much adventure in it…

Spotlighting the MOTO aspect of motocamping, it’s the full test which includes packing, transportation, set up and break down instead of just “use“. Wouldn’t be a very accurate assessment given my needs
