Multi tiered

Organization cleanup party!!

Got some rocking Phish on the toon box, another glorious sleep, replete with heavy rain outside, I’ve solved my sleeping bag woes (partially) and

ANYBODY THAT’S BEEN CAMPING, knows that cleanup is as important as packing. Things need to be cleaned for proper storage, others need laundering. It’s about the ensuing adventures while reflecting and celebrating the past.

Deedles and I had a great LONG conversation last night, obvi I shared some of my recent trip, he’s already cooking some up for next summer, maybe gap year bike trip. Something I shared with him and he completely related from his trip last summer, living off a bike (or out of a car/backpack) has a serious simplicity to it.

Everything has a place and everything in its place. When I started the “undressing” of btwxd to get it on the trailer I had a few muscle memory moments of going to reach for something. It was a little anxiety inducing, “Oh lord, where is that NOW?!” when for a few days it was all tight, on the bike or me. Except for my little phone adventure, EVERYTHING was where I put it, needed it, used it. It worked, flowed, facilitated massive fun!

Something serious clicked in me. I feel changed, better. There are a variety of layers to it, maybe I’ll explore it here in chunklettes, but this I know, I’ll be doing it again, and Again and AGAIN. I’m unapologetically in love with motorcycling, and dedicating my life to it, or at least what ‘free time” I can.

Save my little excursion to Halifax and Nova Scotia in April, getting on a motorcycle was about getting somewhere, a destination, to accomplish SOMETH8NG ELSE. The recent Halifax junket was cool but I stayed in a hostel, wasn’t independent, and stuck to the tarmac.

This last trip, for a few days I was out there in the forest, doing it, not knowing where my head would lay come dark, and all I had to do was twist the throttle until I did. I loved it, and will be doing it again. Dirt, tar, America, beyond, it doesn’t matter as long as my stuff is on the/any bike and the greasy side is down.

So as I clean and organize from this last revelatory experience, I’m loading and cocking for the next, HUZZAH!
