Gets an upgrade. I raised the deposit platform to accommodate a bucket to ease in and out from the back. The liquid will get diverted round the back, nothing fancy.
This will keep smell down (nasty outhouse stench is largely a byproduct of anaerobic decomposition from all the liquid) and make empty the solids a breeze. I’ll start a humanure compost site, and manage accordingly.
Nice to complete this, I’ve been waiting for better weather and the inspiration. After starting and then finding the piece I needed to build up the platform, easy-peasy. (The missing link was behind the grome, the strongback on which Prodo was built. Lovely to find a purpose for that 2×8!
Without too many details, I’ll report after the first deposit tomorrow morning…
