
I’m getting the feeling that the dry summer last year wasn’t the reason the mulberry did so poorly.
More evidence of insect pests, something under the bark. I noticed today a bare spot on the trunk, explored and more bark pulled away from the xylem, an absence of (living) phloem.
Wanna know why pesticides, insecticides, fungicides (you get the picture) are prevalent? It’s true I haven’t been proactive, ignorant of me. Simply hoping things would grow like the native stuff.
Not so much…
